The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) launched the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network (SBN) in Accra to engage the private sector in tackling Ghana's nutrition challenges. The initiative aims to leverage private sector resources to boost access to nutritious food and improve consumer demand.

NDPC Vice Chair, David Quaye Annang, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with Ghana's membership in the Global Scaling Up Nutrition Network since 2011, emphasizing the private sector's critical role in addressing malnutrition sustainably.

World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director, Aurore Rusiga, commended the SBN, noting its potential to redefine approaches to malnutrition through innovation, consumer awareness, and sustainable practices.

Professor Francis B. Zotor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences called for investments in agricultural research and smallholder support to enhance nutritious food production. The initiative seeks to unite the public and private sectors in transforming Ghana’s food systems.
