Former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has criticized President John Dramani Mahama's decision to establish a National Economic Dialogue planning committee, labeling it as evidence of a lack of a clear economic strategy.

He argued that the dialogue is unnecessary if the President had a robust plan and accused him of making unfounded claims about inheriting a struggling economy.

Dr. Amin Adam highlighted Ghana's economic recovery, citing $9 billion in international reserves (covering four months of imports), a 6.4% average GDP growth rate, trade and current account surpluses, and reduced fiscal deficits in 2024.

He questioned the dialogue’s effectiveness, recalling past failures of similar NDC initiatives in 2014.

Calling the move a diversion, he urged accountability for campaign promises and assured parliamentary scrutiny of the 2025 Budget. He concluded by emphasizing the need for real leadership and actionable solutions.
