Professor John Gatsi, a member of the National Economic Dialogue (NED) planning committee, has assured that the dialogue’s outcomes will be published to promote transparency and accountability in implementing its recommendations.
Speaking to NorvanReports, he emphasized that this would enable Ghanaians to track the government’s actions.
On expenditure cuts, Prof. Gatsi stated that any recommendations from the forum would be submitted to the President, who has expressed willingness to be guided by them. However, he cautioned against cuts that could hinder economic growth.
Scheduled for March 3rd-4th, 2025, the NED will bring together key stakeholders to discuss Ghana’s economic challenges and propose solutions. The dialogue will contribute to shaping the 2025 budget and long-term economic policies, focusing on macroeconomic stability, private sector growth, infrastructure development, and governance reforms.
