Ghana Association of Banks CEO John Awuah has dismissed claims that the National Economic Dialogue (NED) was a repetition of past discussions without real solutions.
Speaking on Joy FM, he stressed that while Ghana’s economic challenges are longstanding, the issue has been poor implementation, not a lack of solutions.
He highlighted the private sector’s role in shaping new, innovative strategies and emphasized the need for patience and sacrifice in economic transformation. Using the local rice industry as an example, he underscored the importance of long-term planning.
Awuah acknowledged that structural reforms may cause short-term disruptions but insisted that aggressive implementation could yield early results in two to three years, with full transformation taking longer.
