Franklin Cudjoe, President of Imani Africa, defended the National Economic Dialogue, stressing its crucial role in addressing Ghana’s economic challenges and fostering sustainable growth.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s “The Big Issue” on March 8, Cudjoe noted that the dialogue offers a valuable platform for leaders to inform citizens about economic difficulties and outline potential solutions, thereby building hope and prioritizing welfare.
He recalled the Senchi Economic Forum, highlighting that homegrown solutions from that event significantly contributed to Ghana’s economic recovery strategies and influenced the IMF program, despite dismissal by some in the NPP.
Meanwhile, National Economic Dialogue Chairman Dr. Ishmael Yamson cautioned that many of Ghana’s economic challenges are self-inflicted and that resetting the economy will require considerable patience and strong commitment to necessary reforms.
