Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama disclosed that the Public Procurement Authority initially valued the new Bank of Ghana headquarters at $81.8 million.
Following a re-evaluation, the cost increased to $121.1 million and further rose to $222.8 million after redesign and the inclusion of building management systems.
As of February 2025, $230 million has been paid to the contractor, leaving an outstanding balance of $31.8 million, with an additional $43.8 million paid in taxes and levies.
Due to statutory requirements, security needs, and sustainability considerations, the total project cost has now escalated to $261.8 million, up from the earlier estimate of $250 million.
Separate contracts were awarded for ICT and network systems ($8.6 million), integrated security ($15.8 million), and furnishings ($11.1 million).
