Dr. Johnson Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, announced plans to conduct a value for money audit of the new Bank of Ghana Headquarters in Ridge, Accra. The audit, to be executed by Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) after board approval, aims to bring clarity to the project costs.
Dr. Asiama revealed that design revisions led to an $88 million increase, with total payments reaching $230 million as of February 2025, plus $48.3 million in taxes and levies.
Additional facilities include an $8.6 million Integrated Communication and Computing system, $15.8 million in security systems, and $11.1 million in furnishings.
