Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, the new Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), announced that the government under the previous Akufo-Addo administration paid $230 million for the construction of the new BoG building, leaving an outstanding balance of $31.8 million.
The total cost of the project has reached $261.8 million, with recent payments made in February. Additionally, $48.3 million was paid in taxes and levies.
The project included key elements like an Integrated Communication and Computing system ($8.6 million), electronic security systems ($15.8 million), and furnishings ($11.1 million).
The new BoG headquarters, inaugurated in November 2024, represents a modern, secure environment for the central bank, symbolizing financial strength.
