Infrastructural development is a key focus for the Foundation. About 25 percent of NADeF’s funds support these important projects.
This funding aligns with the Foundation’s mission. It aims to empower communities through grants, knowledge sharing, and partnerships. The goal is to achieve sustainable development.
Recently, members of the Board of Trustees inspected eight projects. These projects are located in four communities: Kenyasi No. 2, Ntotroso, Gyedu, and Wamahinso. They cover education, health, road networks, and social amenities. The total value of these projects is GH¢27.3 million.
In Ntotroso, the team checked a three-storey boys’ hostel block at the College of Nursing and Midwifery. This project is about 90 percent complete and will be finished in six months.
At Gyedu, they inspected a three-storey classroom block for Gyedu Technical Institute. This building is around 70 percent complete. These developments show NADeF's commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
During their visit to Wamahinso, they evaluated a nearly finished health centre project. This facility includes children’s wards, delivery rooms, male and female wards, an outpatient department (OPD), and storerooms. It is 99 percent complete and should open in four months.
The team also visited the University of Energy and Natural Resources satellite campus at Kenyasi No. 2. Ongoing work includes road upgrades, landscaping, lift installation, audio-visual equipment setup, and furnishing.
A four-unit pavilion lecture block is also under construction there.
Professor Yaw Ofosu-Kusi chairs the Board of Trustees of NADeF. He praised contractors for their quality work on these projects across ten Ahafo communities. He noted that this reflects the important role played by Sustainable Development Committees (SDCs) in ensuring value for money.
