Deputy Finance Minister-designate Thomas Nyarko Ampem assured Ghanaians that the government will not introduce new taxes in the upcoming budget but will instead focus on broadening the tax base and enhancing compliance.
With limited access to international bond markets, the government aims to maximize revenue from industries and improve domestic resource mobilization.
Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson reaffirmed that the National Economic Dialogue’s recommendations will shape the budget, describing them as his "Bible" for economic reforms.
He stressed that effective implementation and public support are key to success. The 2025 Budget Statement, set for March 11, will outline revenue-enhancing measures without new levies, reflecting concerns raised during the dialogue to drive economic stability and growth.
