Kissi Agyebeng – Special Prosecutor
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has uncovered $280,516,127.19. This amount comes from a corrupt scheme linked to the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
The funds were used to buy apartments, suites, and houses both locally and abroad. They also purchased 22 fuel haulage trucks. Additionally, they incorporated oil marketing companies to compete with regulated firms.
At a press briefing, Mr. Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, shared details about the investigation. The OSP began looking into suspected corruption involving NPA officials in November 2024.
The investigation found that from 2022 to 2024, NPA officials abused their positions for personal gain. They used threats, coercion, bribery, and regulatory pressure to extort money from oil marketing companies.
Mr. Agyebeng announced that by the end of June, criminal charges will be filed against some perpetrators. This includes involved oil marketing companies and officials.
Once charges are filed, there will be a detailed briefing. This will outline who was responsible and what assets have been recovered.
