PassionAir has denied claims about a fuel shortage on one of its flights. The airline called these allegations "false and misleading."
On Saturday, May 31, 2025, PassionAir released a statement. It explained that Flight OP 122 left Kotoka International Airport at 6:18 a.m. The flight returned to base six minutes after takeoff. This was due to an onboard indication unrelated to fuel.
The statement said, “The Captain elected to return to base due to an indication received in the flight deck not related to fuel.” The aircraft landed safely in Accra. Ground engineers began diagnostics immediately.
All passengers were safely disembarked following standard safety procedures. After fixing the issue, engineers cleared the aircraft for flight again. It was refueled and resumed its route as Flight OP 122A without further incident.
PassionAir criticized the spread of unverified information. They reiterated their commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. “We operate in strict compliance with standards set by our aviation regulator,” they stated.
The airline urged the public to rely on official communications. They also apologized to affected passengers for the disruption. PassionAir expressed appreciation for their patience and understanding.
“Our passengers’ safety remains our highest priority,” concluded the statement.
