NEDCo is rolling out an initiative to combat illegal electricity connections, which will temporarily close its Head Office and Area Offices to ensure full participation from all staff, including top management.
However, customer service centers and zonal offices will remain operational, with third-party vendors assisting with reconnections.
Special security measures will be implemented to arrest and prosecute those involved in illegal connections, with NEDCo urging immediate cessation to avoid legal consequences.
Maxwell K. Kotoka, NEDCo’s Manager of Corporate Communications, called for customer cooperation and timely bill payments to ensure sustainable power distribution.
The company emphasized that ongoing prosecutions will continue as usual and highlighted the support of key stakeholders such as Palaces and Mosques in this effort to improve revenue collection and service delivery.
