The Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has pledged to hold the incoming government in 2025 accountable for promises to improve the agricultural sector.
Speaking at the Political Parties’ Accountability Forum on Agriculture, Acting Executive Director Bismark Nortey emphasized the importance of scrutinizing political manifestos to ensure actionable policies that benefit farmers.
Representatives from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) outlined plans, including the NPP’s commitment to de-risk agriculture and the NDC’s proposal for farmer service centers.
PFAG assured stakeholders of an enhanced accountability framework to monitor the government’s performance, stressing the need for policies that prioritize sustainable farming and national development.
