Police arrest two suspects over viral firearm discharge video - Ghana Business News

The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects. They are linked to a viral video showing firearms being discharged at a funeral.

The suspects are Frank Afoko, 41, and Kojo Agyapong, 31. They were also charged with illegal possession of firearms.

A press release from Deputy Superintendent Michael Nkekesi announced the arrests. The operation took place on April 2, 2025, around 2 PM.

Police Intelligence and the Formed Police Unit conducted the operation together. This followed an investigation into a March 14 incident in Attakrom near Bibiani.

In the viral video, individuals fired guns without permission during a funeral. The suspects admitted to being in the video during interrogation by police.

Both men are now detained for further investigation. Authorities are still searching for other individuals involved who have not been caught.
