The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) is urging the government to implement targeted policies to boost local manufacturing as part of its economic reset.

AGI stressed that the full rollout of the 24-Hour Economy initiative must include strategic support for the manufacturing sector to drive long-term economic transformation.

Speaking at the 2025 National Council Retreat, AGI President Dr. Humphrey Ayim-Darke called for bold policy reforms to spur industrial growth.

Discussions with government officials, including Presidential Advisors on the Economy and the 24-Hour Economy and the Ghana Revenue Authority Commissioner-General, focused on strengthening local industries such as poultry, metal fabrication, and pharmaceuticals. Key challenges, like forex and tax issues, were raised.

AGI CEO Seth Twum-Akwaboah also emphasized the need to streamline tax administration through a robust arbitration system.
