President Mahama appoints Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle as acting CEO of Petroleum Commission

President John Dramani Mahama has named Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Commission, effective January 17, 2025.

The appointment, guided by Article 195(1) of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Petroleum Commission Act, 2011 (Act 821), was conveyed in a letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.

Ms. Hardcastle’s appointment awaits the mandatory advice from the Petroleum Commission Board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

The presidency expressed confidence in her leadership capabilities and congratulated her on the new role.

Key government offices, including the Vice President, Chief of Staff, Energy Minister, and relevant commissions, were notified of the decision.
