From March 16, 2025, petroleum prices in Ghana are expected to drop for the third consecutive time since February.
Petrol is projected to sell at GH₵14.90 per liter (4.5% drop), diesel at GH₵15.90 per liter (3.8% drop), and LPG at GH₵17.35 per kg (3.9% drop) based on cash purchases by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). Credit purchases will see slightly higher prices.
The reduction is attributed to a 4.16% drop in crude oil prices and a stronger cedi, despite marginal depreciation. This could lead to discussions on lower transport fares and potentially reduce food inflation, which was 23.1% in February. If sustained, this trend may ease inflationary pressures.
