Economist and Dean of the University of Cape Coast Business School, Prof. John Gatsi has called for compulsory digital literacy training and equitable access to technology to transform Ghana’s education system from basic to higher levels.
Speaking at the 72nd Anniversary of Keta Secondary Technical School, he emphasized that bridging the digital divide is essential for the youth to remain competitive in a digital global economy.
Prof. Gatsi also warned of a “generational hustle,” where young Ghanaians juggle multiple jobs without financial security, prompting migration for better opportunities.
Criticizing current economic policies that favor debt servicing over infrastructure investment, he urged a rethinking of financing frameworks and called for greater youth participation in policy formulation to restore confidence in Ghana’s economic future.
