Former Kumbungu MP Abdulai Mohammed Mubarak, known as Ras Mubarak, has filed a $5 million lawsuit against MTN Ghana for failing to provide roaming services during his recent trip to the UAE.
Mubarak, a loyal MTN customer of over 20 years, activated the roaming service before traveling but experienced a week without mobile network access.
He claims this caused lost business opportunities, reputational damage, and difficulty managing family responsibilities, including sending money home. Despite lodging complaints, the issue was unresolved.
Mubarak says the disruption caused emotional and psychological distress, along with financial hardship, requiring him to rely on loans for expenses. He seeks compensation for the inconvenience, hardship, and embarrassment suffered and coverage of legal costs.
