Dr. Gideon Boako, MP for Tano North, criticized the NDC. He accused them of hypocrisy and dishonesty about Ghana’s economy.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Boako pointed out a shift in the NDC's narrative. He highlighted their comments on COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.
He stated, “You can spread propaganda when in opposition, but reality will catch up.” This referred to Environment Minister Murtala Mohammed's recent acknowledgment of external shocks affecting Ghana’s economy.
Dr. Boako noted the NDC's inconsistency. He said they previously criticized the NPP for citing those same reasons on national television.
He defended the NPP’s economic management during its tenure. He insisted it was not about shifting blame but reflecting global realities.
“We did not mislead Ghanaians or evade responsibility,” he stated. He accused opponents of using cheap propaganda while ignoring global economic impacts.
Dr. Boako compared the NDC’s admissions to a reluctant confession. “Now, reality has caught up with them,” he said, likening it to a witch undergoing exorcism.
He expressed confidence in the NPP’s achievements before leaving office. The party restored the economy to pre-COVID levels with a growth rate of 5.7%.
The NPP also recorded a historic GDP of over one trillion cedis, unprecedented in Ghana's history.
He concluded by challenging the current administration to build on this solid foundation.
