Rebecca Osam launched the "Pads for 1,000 Girls" campaign. This initiative partners with The Florence Mensah Foundation. It has already helped many young girls in underserved communities.
After the event, Rebecca shared her feelings. She said, “It has always been close to my heart to ensure that young girls have access to quality and affordable sanitary products.” She felt pride witnessing Ghana's commitment to empowering future leaders.
Reflo Company Ltd., led by Rebecca, produces affordable sanitary pads. They also promote conversations about menstrual health in Ghana. Her efforts align with the government's goals discussed at the launch.
The national launch was chaired by Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II. Key stakeholders included officials from the Ghana Education Service and policymakers. President Mahama stated that providing sanitary pads would be a monthly commitment.
He emphasized, “No girl in Ghana should miss school because of a menstrual period.” The Minister of Education and the Minister for Gender also spoke about ending period stigma. They highlighted how this initiative gives girls dignity and freedom.
Rebecca Osam continues to advocate for menstrual equity and girls’ empowerment. Her role at this national milestone shows her commitment to a better future for all girls.
