The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) responded to claims made by Dr. Paul Herzuah in a widely circulated article, alleging that ACEP undermines local businesses, specifically Springfield E&P, in favor of foreign companies.

ACEP refutes these allegations, highlighting inaccuracies in Dr. Herzuah's depiction of the ENI-Springfield unitization case.

ACEP clarified that its opposition to the Ministry of Energy's unitization directive was based on legal and technical grounds, later vindicated by the International Court of Arbitration in 2024.

The tribunal ruled that the directive lacked statutory grounds and unfairly imposed risks on ENI.

ACEP emphasized its consistent advocacy for due process, transparency, and local business support, condemning any attempt to bypass global industry standards. The organization reiterated its commitment to ensuring fairness and accountability in Ghana's oil and gas sector.
