SML tracks petroleum liftings across Ghana - Director

Dr. Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is the Director of Support Services at Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML). She recently shared that the company tracks petroleum liftings in several locations. These locations include Bolga, Akosombo, and Takoradi.

On May 22, 2025, she spoke with Moro Awudu on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana. Dr. Sarpong stated that SML provides real-time insights into these liftings.

She explained that SML's tracking also covers Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). This information is crucial for the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). It helps monitor crude oil extraction, storage, and export.

According to Dr. Sarpong, this system reduces volume gaps. It also allows the GRA to collect taxes from OMCs more effectively.

Additionally, she announced that SML has signed a contract to expand its services. "We have a contract for an extended scope," she said. This will replicate their upstream services in the downstream sector.

Dr. Yaa Serwaa Sarpong also mentioned a new system called SML Nova. This system will track solid minerals, starting with gold.
