Sammy Gyamfi appointed PMMC acting MD

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), effective January 16, 2025.

Gyamfi's key mandate includes spearheading the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), a major initiative in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.

Announcing the appointment, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Presidential Spokesperson, emphasized the government’s focus on economic revitalization and sustainable development.

Under the Finance Minister’s supervision, GoldBod will formalize small-scale gold mining, provide mining support, and oversee sustainable management of Ghana’s gold resources.

As a lawyer and economic policy analyst, Gyamfi brings extensive experience, including roles at Exton Cubic Group Limited and Harvard Kennedy School training, ensuring his readiness for the role.
