The Savannah Region Minister, Sualesu Biawuribe, visited the Savannah Diamond Cement Factory. He urged the factory to lower product prices. This request aligns with the stable Ghanaian cedi and positive economic indicators.
During his visit, he praised the factory's contribution to the local economy. Over 80% of raw materials used are sourced locally. However, he raised concerns about security at the explosive site. He described the current arrangements as inappropriate.
"The security arrangement at the explosive site was not satisfactory," Mr. Biawuribe said. He urged immediate changes to improve safety measures. The minister also addressed issues regarding worker employment and pay.
Sualesu Biawuribe promised to present these challenges to central government for assistance. He emphasized that reducing prices would benefit ordinary citizens in the region and across Ghana.
The Savannah Diamond Cement Factory is one of the largest in northern Ghana. It focuses on mining clinker and producing cement. During his visit, Agnes Aseidu explained the factory's structure to the minister.
