Presidential Advisor on the Economy Seth Terkper stressed the need for policy continuity and fiscal discipline at the National Economic Dialogue in Accra.

In his interview on Channel One TV’s Point of View, Terkper emphasized that clear policies in tax administration and government resource allocation are vital for economic stability.

He noted that despite having established economic policies, inconsistent implementation and declining tax collection rates from 24% to 16% remain a challenge.

Reflecting on past fiscal missteps and stretched resources in 2016, he argued that current strategies are extensions of previous initiatives, such as existing infrastructure projects, and called for a strategic approach to public investment.

Terkper urged policymakers to adopt long-term structural reforms and fiscal consolidation to drive sustainable economic recovery.
