Stakeholder collaboration needed to resolve power sector challenges – Energy Minister tells IPPS

Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, held a meeting on February 24 at the Ministry of Energy with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and key power sector stakeholders to address Ghana's power supply challenges.

The meeting focused on long-term solutions to ensure stable power generation and distribution while tackling issues such as fuel supply constraints, financial sustainability of power producers, and infrastructure maintenance.

Representatives from ECG, GRIDCo, and other companies stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to improve efficiency and prevent prolonged outages.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to resolving these challenges, Mr. Jinapor promised regular updates as immediate measures and long-term reforms are implemented to secure a dependable power supply for Ghana.
