Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Ampem Nyarko has urged Parliament to approve the 2025 Budget, describing it as a necessary step to reset the economy. Speaking during the budget debate on March 18, he argued that the measures outlined are solutions the previous administration failed to implement.
He appealed to MPs, especially the Minority, to support what he called a "sensible budget" aimed at economic recovery. However, Minority MPs criticized the budget, claiming it lacks credibility and fails to address job creation and economic growth. The Majority, on the other hand, defended it as a people-centered plan.
Parliament began debating the 2025 budget on March 18, following its presentation by the Finance Minister on March 11.
