Sylvester Mensah heads Ghana Export-Import Bank

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Hon. Sylvester Adinam Mensah as Acting CEO of the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM). His mandate is to drive Ghana's transition to an export-led economy in line with the Ghana Export-Import Bank Act 2016 (Act 991).

Hon. Mensah will oversee initiatives to enhance trade, overseas investments, and competitiveness in the global market.

An experienced finance professional and former senior banker, Hon. Mensah has expertise in public sector banking, fund management, and strategic financial management.

He previously led public sector banking at Intercontinental Bank (Ghana) Ltd, served as MP for La Dadekotopon, and reformed the National Health Insurance Scheme as NHIA CEO.

With an academic background in finance, strategy, and governance, he is poised to transform GEXIM.
