A delegation from Tanzania's Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority is in Ghana to study the National Petroleum Authority's (NPA) operations, focusing on electronic systems for monitoring petroleum product movements.

The team, led by Tanzanian Director of Petroleum Gerald Maganga, includes experts in petroleum supply and ICT.

Their study will cover Ghana’s electronic tracking systems for road tankers, automatic tank gauges at depots, the Enterprise Relational Database Management System (ERDMS), and the NPA’s Command Centre.

NPA Chief Executive, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, emphasized the importance of Ghana's UPPF system, which standardizes fuel prices nationwide by excluding transportation costs. He also highlighted the value of African partnerships for socio-economic development.

The Tanzanian delegation expressed appreciation for the collaboration and plans to replicate best practices in their energy sector.
