Telecel has helped thousands of students, especially in Africa. It empowers them with essential skills for the digital economy. Now, Telecel offers Startocode free to many Ghanaians. This is part of the Government of Ghana’s One Million Coders Programme (OMCP). This initiative promotes inclusive and scalable education.
The OMCP was launched by President Mahama in April 2025. Its goal is to equip one million Ghanaians with vital digital skills. These skills are necessary for the 21st-century economy. Telecel’s involvement supports this vision by providing large-scale education and training. It aims to reach underserved and rural areas while ensuring quality.
Moh Damush, Group CEO of Telecel Group, praised President Mahama's leadership. He said, “By providing Startocode free to many Ghanaians, we support this national effort.” The aim is to empower youth with digital skills that can transform lives and strengthen Ghana’s economy.
Startocode offers flexible, self-paced learning with mentorship and hands-on projects. This ensures an engaging educational experience for students. Its multilingual features help overcome language barriers across Ghana and beyond.
A joint signing ceremony will be held soon. It will be under the patronage of the Honorable Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations. This event will announce Telecel’s contributions and launch this important initiative.
The Minister stated that this partnership marks a pivotal moment in bridging the digital divide. The One Million Coders Programme unlocks potential and fosters innovation for youth across Ghana. The Minister expressed pride in collaborating with partners like Telecel who share their vision.
Integrating Startocode into OMCP brings world-class education within reach for all Ghanaians. This initiative focuses on underserved communities and builds a resilient digital economy.
Telecel Group looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the Ghanaian Government. They aim to promote long-term sustainable development through education and digital empowerment.
