The 2025 budget has been described as positive and focused on fiscal consolidation. Dr. George Domfeh noted its consistency with previous policies, while Dr. Adu Owusu Sarkodie highlighted the GHS 10 billion expenditure cut. He also urged the government to retain the COVID-19 Levy for health infrastructure.

Key initiatives include the Women’s Development Bank with GHS 51.3 million in seed funding and GHS 292.4 million for free sanitary pads for schoolgirls. Social protection programmes like LEAP and the School Feeding Programme received increased funding.

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson emphasized national unity in addressing economic challenges. He outlined cost-cutting measures, including reducing the number of ministers and prohibiting first-class travel for officials, as part of President Mahama’s fiscal discipline efforts.
