Time with the Amazons – UBA Ghana’s Women unite for inspiration and wellness

The women’s wing of UBA Ghana, U-Lioness, hosted an event called “Time with the Amazons.”

This gathering brought together women from different departments and branches of the bank. They engaged in open conversations about life, career, and personal development.

The event took place at Best Western Plus. It aimed to foster connection, support, and continuous development among women in the organization.

Top female executives served as resource persons. They included Evelyn Quansah (Country Head, Human Resources), Rita Mills-Robertson (Head of Corporate Banking 1), and Theodora Awotwi (Head of Corporate Banking 2).

These accomplished professionals shared their personal and professional stories. They reflected on challenges and achievements while offering insights for thriving as women in the workplace.

The Amazons stressed the importance of self-care in today’s fast-paced world. They provided key tips on personal growth and self-care.

Women were encouraged to schedule self-care as a priority. Building a supportive network was also emphasized for overall well-being.

They shared strategies for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This included separating work from personal life and prioritizing time effectively.

Participants were advised to allocate dedicated time for work, family, and rest. Regular breaks and engaging in meaningful activities were also recommended.

Dr. Serwaa Attafuah spoke about wellness at the event. She highlighted how vital it is for women to prioritize their health amid various demands.

Dr. Attafuah discussed physical and mental well-being aspects. She provided practical tips like regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, and stress management.

Miguela Beecham is the President of U-Lioness and Business Manager at Labone Business Office. She remarked that this successful event allowed women to connect, learn, and grow.

Beecham noted that initiatives like these shape careers for women professionals. By empowering them, UBA Ghana invests in its future and community.

She thanked attendees for their presence and the bank's support for the event.
