The association urged drivers to resist intimidation or external pressure to reverse the fare adjust
The Transport Operators Association of Ghana has announced a 15% increase in transport fares, effective Thursday, December 5, 2024.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the association cited rising operational costs driven by fuel price hikes as the reason for the adjustment.
They appealed to the public for understanding, noting that the increment is necessary to sustain operations and maintain service delivery.
The association urged drivers to resist intimidation or external pressure to reverse the fare adjustment, asserting their commitment to standing firm this time.
Concluding the statement, the group encouraged Ghanaians to maintain peace during the upcoming December 7 elections while continuing to support a sustainable transport system.
The statement was signed by representatives of key transport unions, including C-DAG and the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana.
