Truck carrying over 150 bags of cocoa intercepted by police at Gulumpe

The Ghana Police Service intercepted a truck carrying over 150 bags of cocoa beans at Gulumpe on the Kintampo-Buipe highway in the Bono East Region.

The truck, reportedly transporting the cocoa beans from Accra to Burkina Faso, was seized after residents detected the smell of cocoa and alerted authorities.

The driver and his mate, who confessed they were hired by an unidentified individual for the transport, have been arrested. COCOBOD officials visited the scene but declined to comment publicly.
