The Office of the Commercial Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy hosted an investment forum in Accra. Over 50 Turkish companies attended, along with Ghanaian government agencies and private sector leaders. The event aimed to explore investment opportunities in Ghana and strengthen ties between Ghana and Türkiye.
Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), delivered the keynote address. He emphasized the long-standing relations between Ghana and Türkiye. Mr. Wiredu highlighted GFZA’s mission to attract export-oriented investments with incentives like tax holidays and duty exemptions.
He encouraged Turkish businesses to consider Ghana's strategic location and political stability. He noted that there are currently no Turkish enterprises in Ghana’s Free Zones, presenting a significant opportunity. “We invite you to partner with us for regional trade growth,” he stated.
Other speakers included Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament; Mr. Utku Bengisu, President of the World Cooperation Industries Forum; Mr. Abdul Razak Baba, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre; Mr. Iddrisu D. Mahmoud, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Enterprises Agency; and Mr. Rockson Dogbegah, Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries Construction Sector.
Mr. Bengisu reaffirmed Türkiye’s interest in investing in construction, manufacturing, agriculture, and technology sectors in Ghana. The GFZA also organized business-to-business (B2B) sessions for direct engagement with Turkish firms. These interactions aimed to promote long-term partnerships for sustainable economic development.
