United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc's Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP) has, over three years, cultivated over 3,222 young professionals across Africa. This initiative offers mentorship, training, and practical experience, preparing participants for leadership roles within the bank.
Recently, UBA inducted 1,138 graduates after months of intensive training, emphasizing the bank's commitment to youth empowerment and addressing unemployment in Africa.
Group Chairman Tony Elumelu underscored the belief that Africa's transformation lies in the hands of dynamic young professionals, urging the new inductees to embrace hard work, resilience, and continuous learning.
Group Managing Director/CEO Oliver Alawuba expressed pride in the graduates, reiterating UBA's dedication to human capital development. Notably, 58% of the new cohort are women, reflecting the bank's commitment to gender diversity and inclusion.
