United Airlines is expanding its Accra-Washington D.C. route from three to up to seven weekly flights, increasing seating capacity by 62% year-over-year.
This makes United the only airline offering nonstop service between Accra and Washington D.C. while providing extensive one-stop connections to over 70 U.S. destinations.
Operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, the flights feature enhanced comfort, including PolarisSM business class and Economy PlusSM seats. United’s expansion reflects its growing focus on Africa, with plans to launch a Dakar-Washington D.C. route in 2025 and recent seasonal flights from Marrakesh to New York/Newark.
United’s Country Sales Manager for Ghana, Oluwatomi Bola-Sadipe, emphasized the airline’s commitment to offering greater travel choices for Ghanaian customers. United resumed services to Ghana in 2021, connecting Accra to major U.S. cities.
