The operators of the intercity transport company VIP Jeoun have decided to suspend the planned increase in transport fares. This comes after the Alliance of Drivers Ghana announced a 20% fare hike, citing rising fuel prices, escalating engine oil costs, and the increasing prices of vehicle spare parts.

VIP Jeoun had initially planned to introduce new fares in April but has now put the decision on hold.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, March 18, the company said it had received an urgent communication from the Minister of Transport and, after careful consideration, resolved to stay the fare increase.

The transport company reaffirmed its commitment to fair competition and ethical trading practices, assuring passengers of its dedication to providing quality service while balancing operational costs.
