We've signed contract to replicate downstream process in upstream sector - SML

Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd. (SML) has signed a new contract. This contract extends its services to the upstream petroleum sector.

Dr. Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is the Director of Support Services at SML. She stated that the contract will provide real-time insights into petroleum liftings in Ghana.

"We have a contract to replicate our downstream services in the upstream," Dr. Sarpong said on Good Morning Ghana, Metro TV.

This development will give the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) direct information on crude oil extraction, storage, and export.

Dr. Sarpong also mentioned that SML has a contract to track solid minerals. The company has developed a system for tracking these minerals, starting with gold, called SML Nova.

SML is celebrating five years of operations in the petroleum downstream sector. They are ready to support Ghana's upstream petroleum and solid minerals sectors.

The company aims to digitize fuel audits and reduce revenue leakages in the downstream industry.

SML began operations in 2018 under a subcontract from the GRA. They have helped close gaps in taxable petroleum product volumes, boosting government revenue.

"Our story began with a bold vision: to support governments in safeguarding national revenue," Dr. Sarpong said during her keynote address. She emphasized their commitment to precision, accountability, and technical expertise from the start.
