We are committed to IMF programme amidst challenges

President John Mahama's administration is committed to the IMF-supported economic program. This commitment remains strong despite challenges faced since January 2025.

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson spoke on behalf of the President. He stated, “We remain fully committed to the implementation of the program.” He emphasized that they will do everything necessary to keep its objectives on track.

Dr. Forson acknowledged the hardships Ghanaians are experiencing. He thanked citizens for their patience and resilience during this time.

The government aims to focus on inclusive growth and job creation. They also want to protect the poor and vulnerable in society.

Dr. Forson pledged to lead efforts under the IMF arrangement personally. This will help reinforce credibility with domestic and international partners.

He said, “This is about building the Ghana We Want—together.” He recognized the sacrifices made by every Ghanaian as they work towards macroeconomic stability and a brighter future for all.
