The Government of Ghana has allocated GH¢1.5 billion to the Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA) to modernize agriculture, enhance food security, and create jobs.
Announcing this in the 2025 Budget, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson highlighted key initiatives under AETA, including the Feed Ghana Programme, Ghana Grains Development Project, Vegetable Development Project, and Nkokor Nketenkete.
This investment aims to increase food production, reduce import dependency, and improve value chains. It will also support modern farming techniques, infrastructure, and research and development. The initiative is expected to boost self-sufficiency in grain and vegetable production while attracting domestic and foreign investment.
AETA aligns with the government’s vision of leveraging agriculture as a driver of economic growth and addressing inflation and sustainability challenges.
