Karpowership Ghana has dismissed claims linking it to recent power outages, asserting that its operations continue at full capacity to meet the country’s energy needs.
In an interview with JoyBusiness, Corporate Communications Manager Sandra Amarquaye clarified that the company is fully committed to providing a stable and reliable power supply, currently contributing about 450 megawatts to the national grid.
She also noted that the company is in active debt negotiations with the government over more than $370 million owed by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Acknowledging the fiscal challenges facing the government, Amarquaye expressed hope that constructive dialogue will lead to a mutually beneficial resolution, ensuring uninterrupted power generation essential for Ghana’s development.
