NPP Director of Communications Richard Ahiagbah has dismissed the proposed Women’s Development Bank, arguing that the GHS 51.3 million allocation is insufficient to establish a bank in Ghana.

In a post on X, he claimed, “Women’s Development Bank is dead on arrival... Women are not a priority for the John Mahama Administration.”

However, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, while presenting the 2025 Budget, reaffirmed the government's commitment, stating that the GHS 51.3 million is a seed fund to support women-owned businesses.

The budget also earmarked:

• GHS 300 million for the National Apprenticeship Programme
• GHS 100 million for the Adwumawura Programme
• GHS 100 million for the National Coders Programme
