The Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of the World Bank, Wencai Zhang, paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to discuss deepening collaboration in key sectors.
The meeting, held at the Finance Ministry, centered on enhancing support in agriculture, transport, and energy—areas deemed crucial for Ghana’s long-term development.
Dr. Forson urged the World Bank to scale up investments and proposed a regional hub in Ghana to streamline project execution.
Zhang reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment, highlighting agriculture as a top priority and an area where the institution has extensive expertise.
He also noted current World Bank initiatives focused on revitalizing Ghana’s energy sector. The visit underscored continued efforts to strengthen the partnership for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
