Ɔdadeɛ Y2K group marks 25th anniversary with sustainable kitchen project

PRESEC is upgrading its kitchen with modern equipment. This change reflects the school's commitment to innovation and progress.

The kitchen area will be retooled for students. The dining hall will also be properly set up.

Additionally, a new facility for kitchen staff will be built. It will include resting areas, offices, and changing rooms.

Mr. Gbeasor mentioned the creation of an ultramodern area for staff. This space will allow them to relax and work comfortably.

A major part of this initiative is a biogas system. This system will power the kitchen, making PRESEC one of Ghana's first green kitchens.

Mr. Gbeasor noted that this project aims to benefit current students. It also sets an example for sustainable development in education infrastructure.

The Ɔdadeɛ Y2K initiative supports Ghana’s clean cooking agenda. The goal is to achieve 50% LPG usage by 2030.

Currently, over 54% of Ghanaian households use solid biomass for cooking. This includes firewood and charcoal, which contribute to indoor air pollution.

Indoor air pollution causes about 16,000 premature deaths each year. Respiratory illnesses mainly affect women and children.

The Ɔdadeɛ Y2K project highlights private sector involvement in cleaner energy solutions. It addresses issues like deforestation and health complications through targeted school interventions.

This anniversary project aligns with broader climate commitments in Ghana. It supports frameworks like the National Energy Policy (2022) and the Renewable Energy Master Plan (2019).
