The Eastern North Police Command in Kwahu Mpraeso has made an arrest.
Two women were caught with 1,650 slabs of suspected Indian hemp.
The arrest took place at their home in Nkawkaw Ampekrom.
Regional Police Commander DCOP Isaac Kwadwo Asante announced the news.
The operation occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after months of surveillance.
The suspects are Hawa Ibrahim, 40, and Latifa Adams, 30.
DCOP Asante spoke to Adom News about the incident.
He said police acted on intelligence to storm the house.
During a search, they found 24 maxi bags of Indian hemp.
Both women are currently in custody for further investigation.
They will be processed for court soon.
