The Asokwa Circuit Court in Kumasi has sentenced four carjackers—Jeffrey Jomoh, Clifford Opoku, Prince Opuni, and Kwabena Kyei Baffour—to a total of 120 years in prison, with each serving 30 years.
Convicted for a series of robberies in Kumasi, the group was involved in car thefts and reselling stolen vehicles in Accra.
The court's decision, which follows their arrest in 2022 and trial beginning in February 2023, aims to deter future crimes.
Victim Mr. Kwabena Appiah, who had his car stolen at gunpoint, expressed satisfaction with the verdict.
