A disabled man, Joseph Acquah, also known as Akwesi, has been lynched at Edumadze in Mankessim, Central Region, after being accused of stealing an amplifier.

The 40-year-old reportedly went missing on February 9 and was later found dead on a school field, with his hands and legs tied. The amplifier was placed beside him, raising suspicions of a setup.

His mother, Ama Bentsiwa, insists he was innocent, arguing that his disability made it unlikely for him to commit the crime.

Police have transported the body to Saltpond Government Hospital for autopsy and are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, no arrests have been made, and the victim’s family is demanding justice.
